Yasser Arafat and the Oslo Betrayal

The signing of the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, headed by Yasser Arafat, in 1993, raised hopes that Israelis and Palestinians had embarked on a process that would lead to a final settlement peace agreement between them. The Oslo process collapsed after Arafat rejected an Israeli offer to withdraw from over 95% of the territory it occupied and launched a massive campaign of terrorism against the Israeli people in September 2000.
