Freedom of thought and conscience
In a democratic society, no one can be forced to accept any particular set of ideas. No religion, political program or philosophy can be imposed on an individual, nor should anyone be penalized for holding dissenting views. Freedom means being able to make up your own mind.
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
