Border fences elsewhere in the world

Dozens of other countries, amongst them Kuwait, Lithuania, Namibia, India and South Africa, have erected fences on their borders, sometimes for genuine reasons of national security but usually for such mundane purposes as preventing smuggling or illegal immigration. In Cyprus, the U.N. itself had sponsored a security fence to keep apart the island’s Greek and Turkish inhabitants.
